Capacity Building Provider

We work to ensure that all children from tribal villages complete their education, women and youth lead with confidence, health systems are accessible, and tribal villages thrive through sustainable local livelihoods.
In response to the growing vulnerabilities that affect tribal populations in Madhya Pradesh, Pahar Foundation was founded in 2018 by a group of young people from the tribal and minority communities of Harda district, who wanted to take charge of creating change in their communities. What began as a small collective of motivated youth has since grown into an organisation that addresses the interconnected challenges of health, education, and livelihoods in tribal villages.
Our vision is a future where tribal communities are empowered to live with dignity, safety, and collective agency to lead their own development. We work to ensure that all children from tribal villages complete their education, women and youth lead with confidence, health systems are accessible, and tribal villages thrive through sustainable local livelihoods.
Our interventions are organised across three core, and often intersecting areas that together promote the holistic development of tribal communities:
Since its inception, Pahar Foundation has worked in over 30 villages, directly engaging with 1,500+ children, adolescents, and youth. Its work has been recognised by the district administration and has since formed strong partnerships with government systems, local institutions, and community leaders.
