Safetipin

Safetipin is a social organisation that works to make cities safer by collecting and providing safety-related data on a large scale. Safetipin is a tool in hands of urban stakeholders that has been designed to bring gender lens to urban infrastructure to enable girls and women to access public spaces more freely. We use apps and technology tools to facilitate wider and comprehensive data collection around planning and designing safer and gender friendly cities. The data is analysed by our team of urban planners and made available for use for the city governments, police departments, urban planners, and other stakeholders. Safetipin is the only system that collects night-time data and has evolved into an approach for data collection, analysis, and representation. Over 12 years, Safetipin has worked across 30 Indian cities and 12 cities globally. We have closely worked with cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Panchkula, Karnal, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Bhopal and more, along with several national and global partners.
