Pravah

Since 1993, Pravah has been at the forefront of shaping India’s youth development ecosystem directly engaging with young people while nurturing and strengthening over 1,000 youth-led and youth-engaging organisations across the country. Through the leadership and action of youth, we have touched the lives of over 15 million people, addressing issues that span sustainable development, mental health and wellbeing, climate change, quality education, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, gender equality, social entrepreneurship, and employability.

We bridge these gaps through a psychosocial approach that enables organisations to integrate a community-centric lens- facilitating design thinking programmes, co-designing context-sensitive strategies, setting up advisory groups, and supporting participatory envisioning processes. Our work supports organisations across various stages of their development: from laying strong organisational foundations for social entrepreneurs and youth-led start-ups, to building the skills of programme managers through tools that enhance on-ground impact. As organisations evolve, we invest in second-line leadership and organisational culture building, enabling young(er) leaders to take on management roles with confidence and moving from dependence on founders to shared leadership models of decision-making and growth.

As an ecosystem shaper, we also partner with donors, grant-makers, civil society organizations and institutions to embed a youth-centric development lens into strategies, programme design, and institutional decision-making. Our participatory envisioning processes empower stakeholders to reimagine solutions and invest in youth leadership as a driving force for social change ensuring that the youth ecosystem not only grows but thrives with youth as equal partners in decision making.
