Deesha Education Foundation, formally called as DEESHA Group, is a social impact organisation transforming the eye-care and eye-donation ecosystem in India. Founded in 2005, Deesha works to eliminate avoidable corneal blindness through a comprehensive model that integrates eye donation awareness, eye banking, mobile eye care, and digital health innovation. Deesha has established multiple eye banks across Maharashtra, created India’s first Eye Donation Helpline, and operates a Mobile Eye Care Unit that has screened over 300,000 people across seven districts. Its digital eye-banking platform and emerging AI-based graft-matching system aim to bring transparency, efficiency, and equity to corneal tissue distribution nationwide. To date, Deesha has supported 12,700+ corneal donations, sensitised 600,000+ people on eye and organ donation, and continues to build India’s first integrated, tech-enabled super-specialty eye-care ecosystem."
